1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to customers, vendors, visitors, and people who contact RentBazaar. RentBazaar controls the marketplace information described here. Banks, identity services, secure checkout services, hosting services, and other specialist partners may separately control information they collect under their own privacy notices.

2. Information you give us

• Account information such as name, email address, phone number, role, authentication records, city, and profile photo.
• Vendor information such as business details, addresses, payout account holder details, bank name, account number or IBAN, verification status, and supporting documents when required.
• Listing information such as descriptions, photographs, prices, availability, location, nearby area, full handover address, rules, delivery choices, and preparation time.
• Booking information such as dates, selected options, price snapshots, payment method, cancellations, and confirmations.
• Messages, service briefs, revision requests, uploaded files, support requests, dispute statements, photographs, and transaction proof.
• Feedback, reports, and any other information you choose to send us.

Please do not place card PINs, passwords, unnecessary identity documents, or highly sensitive personal information in listings, messages, or file uploads.

3. Information created when you use RentBazaar

• Booking and workflow events, including when each party presses cash, handover, return, cancellation, and completion controls.
• Payment references, transaction status, refund status, payout status, commission, money owed, ledger entries, and reconciliation history.
• Account and moderation records such as verification, warnings, restrictions, fraud signals, linked identifier checks, and review outcomes.
• Reviews, star ratings, platform notes, vendor replies, edit history, and the completed booking used to verify a vendor review.
• Technical information such as IP address, device and browser details, request logs, timestamps, session activity, errors, and security events.
• General usage information such as pages visited, searches, filters, and feature interactions where our analytics settings permit it.

4. Payment information

Card numbers, card security codes, bank login credentials, and PINs should be entered only into the secure payment form shown at checkout. RentBazaar normally receives a transaction reference, method or card summary where supplied, payment status, amount, refund information, and fraud or verification results rather than the full payment credential.

We store vendor payout details because they are needed to verify account ownership, prevent duplicate or abusive accounts, calculate settlements, and send eligible payouts. Access is restricted to authorised systems and team members who need it for payments, compliance, security, or support.

5. How we use information

• Create and protect accounts, remember sessions, and route users to the correct customer, vendor, or admin experience.
• Publish listings, personalise city browsing, check availability, calculate prices, and operate bookings.
• Reveal the contact and handover details needed by confirmed booking participants.
• Process payments, commission, refunds, cash dues, vendor settlements, and financial reconciliation.
• Deliver messages and files for digital services and preserve the agreed scope.
• Provide support, investigate disputes, and decide account, listing, refund, or payout actions.
• Detect fraud, payment evasion, fake evidence, account duplication, unsafe conduct, and technical attacks.
• Maintain, debug, measure, and improve RentBazaar.
• Comply with lawful requests, tax and accounting duties, banking rules, and other legal obligations.
• Send essential account and booking messages. Promotional messages will include the choices required by applicable law.

6. Who can see information

Public visitors may see published listing content, approximate location, vendor display information, and information intentionally placed on a public profile. A vendor's full address and direct contact details are not intended to be public. They are revealed only when the booking stage requires the customer and vendor to coordinate.

Reviews and replies are public. A vendor review displays the reviewer's profile name, the listing name, a shortened booking reference, rating, title, description, edit label where applicable, and any vendor reply. Platform notes display the author's profile name and chosen tag. Do not include phone numbers, addresses, payment details, or somebody else's private information in a review.

Customers and vendors involved in the same booking can see the information reasonably needed to complete it. Admins and authorised support staff may access relevant records for operations, safety, financial reconciliation, moderation, and disputes. Database access rules are designed to stop one user from reading or changing another user's private records without an allowed reason.

7. Service providers and disclosures

We may share necessary information with:

• Secure account, database, file storage, hosting, email, monitoring, and support services used to run RentBazaar.
• Approved identity, checkout, banking, refund, fraud review, and payout services where needed to complete a transaction.
• Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, and authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required.
• A successor involved in a genuine merger, financing, reorganisation, or sale, subject to suitable confidentiality safeguards.

We do not sell personal information to data brokers or rent it out for unrelated advertising. Partners receive only the information reasonably needed for their service and are expected to handle it securely.

8. Messages, files, and dispute evidence

RentBazaar messages and uploaded files are not public, but they are not a private vault. Authorised staff may review them when responding to a report, investigating fraud, resolving a dispute, enforcing platform rules, or meeting a lawful obligation. Booking event timestamps and listing snapshots may be retained so a later edit does not rewrite what the parties originally agreed.

9. Cookies and sessions

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember safe preferences, protect forms, and operate important features. We may use limited analytics to understand performance and improve the product. If optional advertising or tracking tools are introduced later, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before they are used.

10. Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes in this policy. Profile information may remain while the account is open. Booking, payment, payout, tax, commission, refund, dispute, and fraud records may remain longer because financial claims and safety questions can outlive an account.

If an account is closed, public profile and active listing visibility can be removed while limited records remain restricted for reconciliation, chargebacks, fraud prevention, enforcement, legal compliance, and backup recovery. Bank or phone identifiers connected to a confirmed platform block may be retained in protected form so the restriction cannot be avoided simply by opening another account.

11. Security

We use access controls, protected credentials, strict data permissions, logging, and other safeguards appropriate to the service. No online system is perfectly secure. Use a unique password, protect your email and phone, and report suspicious activity promptly. RentBazaar staff will never ask for your card PIN or account password in chat or by phone.

12. Storage outside Pakistan

Some infrastructure and service providers may store or process information outside Pakistan. Where this happens, we use reputable providers and reasonable contractual, access, and security protections appropriate to the information and service.

13. Your choices

You can update much of your profile and listing information from your dashboard. You may also ask us to explain, correct, export, or delete personal information associated with your account, subject to identity verification and records we must reasonably retain. You may request a review if you believe an account or identifier was restricted by mistake.

Some information is required to provide a feature. For example, vendors need payout and listing information, and booking participants need working contact details. Removing required information may mean the related feature or account can no longer be used.

14. Children

RentBazaar is for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

15. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the platform, payment relationships, or legal requirements change. The latest version and date will remain on this page, and we will give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.

Privacy questions, access requests, deletion requests, and security reports can be sent through the support contact published on RentBazaar. A dedicated privacy email and registered business address will be added before public launch.
